Pitt gets #1 seed

The NCAA Tournament field of 65 was announced today, and the Pittsburgh Panthers were awarded the second #1 seed. They will play in the East region, which is in Boston. Below is a link to a viewable bracket. The first two rounds are in Dayton, Ohio.

Some pundits, including Greg Anthony, thought it was good that Pitt lost in their first BET game because they had some injuries and they could have used the rest. Sure, the rest is great, but to play by far your worst game all season in your conference tournament is not good.

Pitt will open up Friday, March 20 versus 16 seed East Tennessee State. The Buccaneers won the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament and are 23-10 overall on the year. More on them can be found at http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/teams/page/ETNST.

Pitt has a lot to prove in this tournament and they will be thought of very lowly if they go down early. It all starts soon. Let the excitment begin!
